Antique 9ct Yellow Gold Citrine Spinning Watch Fob

The watch fob was a common piece of jewellery in the late 1700s for Victorian gentlemen. It was worn on an Albert chain across the belly and was used to show off a man's status, the fancier the fob the more important the gentleman. Watch fobs were crafted in many different styles, some gem-set and some had engravings called Intaglios, commonly initials or family crests, which would be used as an imprint for a wax seal. This particular fob features a spinning Citrine that shows off the quality facets of the gemstone. In modern times, watch fobs are commonly used as charms for ladies' bracelets or pendants.
