The watch fob was a common piece of jewellery in the late 1700s for Victorian gentlemen. It was worn on an Albert chain across the belly and was used to show off a man's status, the fancier the fob the more important the gentleman. Watch fobs were crafted in many different styles, some gem-set and some had engravings called Intaglios, commonly initials or family crests, which would be used as an imprint for a wax seal. This particular fob features a spinning Smokey Topaz that shows off the quality facets of the gemstone. In modern times, watch fobs are commonly used as charms for lady's bracelets or pendants.
This particular fob features a faceted spinning Smoky Topaz stone which complements the yellow gold beautifully!
