Bespoke Comission Work
Looking for a unique piece of jewellery tailored to your style? At Eloise, our Bespoke Commission Service let’s you create your dream design with the help of our in-house designers.
From traditional, timeless classic to cutting-edge contemporary, the design possibilities are endless! You can choose between silver or gold, and even repurpose your own gold or gemstones, which can significantly reduce the cost as the gold price is at an all time high.
Unsure if your materials are gold? Bring them in, and we can test them for you - around 6 grams of gold is typically needed for one ring.
Let's talk you through each stage of the process…
Research and Inspiration
To start, we'll need an idea of what you're looking for to create a design brief. The more inspiration you provide, the more we have to play with. You can show us multiple pictures of different pieces, and we'll help you identify and combine your favourite features to craft your perfect design.
Idea Generation and Development
When you visit us in-store, one of our designers will create initial sketches based on your ideas. We'll refine these sketches with your input until we settle on the final design.
The Quote
Next, we'll provide a quote based on the materials and the time required to handcraft your piece. This process can take up to two weeks after your design consultation, as we need to source and price any gold and gemstones.
Jeweller’s Advice.
While our design team is highly experienced, our jeweller may provide feedback and make minor adjustments to enhance the design's aesthetics or safety. We will then send you an updated sketch and quote, and you can decide if you'd like to proceed.
Renders (Digital Models)
Once you're satisfied with the design, we create a 3D render - a hyperrealistic computer model showing how the final piece will look in your chosen materials. If your design is relatively simple, we'll skip this step. Renders are mainly used to help visualise more complex, stone set, designs and they allow us to fine tune any intricate details.
Deposit
Once you approve the final design, we will require a 50% deposit before passing the materials to our jeweller for the final creation.
Handmaking the Final Piece
This is where your dream jewellery comes to life! Our jeweller, Jamie, uses traditional goldsmithing techniques to handcraft your piece with the highest quality finish. The process takes 6 to 12 weeks, depending on the design's complexity, but it’s worth the wait.
Collecting from Store
Once your jewellery is ready, it will be beautifully gift-wrapped in our Eloise packaging. We’ll notify you by call or text when it’s ready for collection. It's an exciting moment when you finally see, touch, and wear the piece you designed!
And just like that, you now own a truly one-of-a-kind piece that no one else in the world has! We never tire of seeing the joy on our customers' faces during the big reveal.
To commission a piece of jewellery, please complete the form below with your details and a brief description of your design. We'll respond within 48 hours.

What is rhodium?
Rhodium is a rare and expensive metal from the platinum family, and is highly valued for its reflective properties, corrosion resistance, and is commonly used in jewellery electroplating to enhance appearance and durability.
Why does white gold need it?
White gold is naturally pale yellow or dull grey, so it is plated with rhodium to protect it and give it a bright white, sparkling finish that enhances the fire and brilliance of diamonds.
How often do my rings need to be rhodium plated?
We recommend visiting us for rhodium plating every 1 to 3 years, as wear varies based on factors like exposure to chemicals, daily wear, and frequent hand sanitiser use, all of which have been found to cause the rhodium to wear faster.
How long does it take?
We offer on-site rhodium plating in just one hour, Tuesday to Saturday, with no appointment needed, simply call ahead at 01592 646340. to confirm a jeweller is available.
How much does it cost?
1 ring - £40
2 rings - £70
3 rings - £100
4 rings - £125
5 rings - £150
Can you rhodium plate yellow gold?
If you prefer white gold or platinum but fall for a yellow gold ring, rhodium plating can give it a bright white finish to match your metal preference. Although rhodium plating doesn’t wear faster on yellow gold, the richer underlying colour may make any wear more noticeable.
Rhodium Plating Disclaimer:
We have fixed prices for rhodium plating white gold rings, but quotes for white gold earrings, pendants, and bangles are given individually.
Please note that we generally avoid rhodium plating chains due to the intricate and time-consuming process, which can still end up resulting in a less consistent finish.
Our workshop will assess the security of any stones present in your rings and make you aware of any risks. If any stones fall out during the cleaning process, we can re-set them but there will be an additional charge.
Two-toned rings will be an extra £10 as the jeweller has to mask off the brighter coloured gold to protect it which takes longer.
