Explore this extremely rare collector's piece. Eloise Jewellery proudly presents this immaculate Brutalist-style ring, expertly crafted from fine 9ct yellow gold.
This impressive crown jewel showcases two pristine, deep green, baguette-cut tourmaline gemstones, carefully claw-set alongside four glittering, brilliant-cut white diamonds. The stones are arranged in a striking criss-cross formation of bark-textured, linear structures - a hallmark of the Brutalist aesthetic.
You’ll notice the shank is rectangular - this is known as a Euro shank. It’s designed for maximum comfort and to keep the top-heavy design sitting upright on the finger.
So why the name Brutalist? It’s all about the style. Brutalist jewellery is strongly associated with the 1970s and 1980s and is characterised by bold, raw, and abstract designs. These often feature rough textures, asymmetry, and an industrial, sculptural aesthetic. The designs may appear haphazard, but every detail is executed with expert precision. No two pieces are quite the same - each one is a wearable piece of art.
While Brutalism as an architectural and artistic movement had roots across Europe, it was actually British designers who truly pushed the boundaries of jewellery as an art form.
The hallmarks indicate that this piece was made in London in 1971, and it features the maker’s mark H&M, which we’re still researching to uncover more background information.
Want to wear a literal sculpture - and a piece of British history? Then this ring is for you. It’s guaranteed to turn heads. In fact, our business owner, Louise, wore it for just a couple of days after sourcing it, and was blown away by the amount of attention it received!
